Six more people have died from dengue while 2,089 new cases were reported across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, according to health officials on Sunday.
A statement from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said 203 of the newly hospitalized patients were admitted in Barisal division, 324 in Chittagong division, 514 in Dhaka division, 196 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) areas and 106 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas.
The statement also reported 330 new hospital admissions in Khulna division, 99 in Mymensingh, 224 in Rajshahi, 83 in Rangpur and 10 in Sylhet.
With the latest figures, the number of dengue-related deaths in Bangladesh has reached 262 so far this year, while the total number of reported cases stands at 86,458.
In 2025, dengue claimed 413 lives and affected 102,861 people across the country.
The disease also caused 575 deaths and affected 101,214 people in Bangladesh in 2024.
