National Citizens Party (NCP)’s chief organizer for the southern region, Hasnat Abdullah, said that the reform process should be completed quickly and elections should be held by February. He also mentioned that it would be a sad thing to take the July Charter from the President – it is better to drown in the river than to do so.
Hasnat made these comments while attending the NCP’s district coordination meeting at the Bhola Zilla Parishad Auditorium on Sunday (November 2) afternoon.
After the meeting, he told reporters that the NCP is working according to the expectations of the people, and all the party’s policy decisions are being taken based on the people’s opinions.
Hasnat said that through the mass uprising, Dr. Muhammad Yunus has become the chief advisor. Therefore, now he is the most suitable person to give legitimacy to the declaration.
He also said, “One party wants the President to sign the July Charter. I would say, it is better to drown in the river than to take that certificate from the President.’
Hasnat said, noting that the people of Bhola have been martyred the most after Dhaka in the coup, ‘If they hear that the President is giving certificates for July, those families will be saddened. Nothing can be more sad than this.’
Hasnat Abdullah expressed regret and condemned the recent attacks on BJP leaders and activists at the meeting.
