Some scholars gave Hasina the title of Qaumi Janani: Mirza Fakhrul

Some scholars gave Hasina the title of Qaumi Janani: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, ‘If there is democracy in the country, the rights of people of all religions and castes are established. But due to the lack of democracy, Hasina has taken away everyone’s rights and the right to practice religion. However, at that time, some scholars gave Hasina the title of Qawmi Janani. The previous government had partyized all institutions.’

He said this at a discussion meeting organized by Islamic Foundation Mosque-based Mass Education Caretakers at Diploma Engineers Institute in Kakrail in the capital on Saturday (November 22).

Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘A party was vocal for PR. Now it is walking towards the elections with a soft tone. Fooling people is not the teaching of Islam. Islam does not support using religion for political gain by talking about selling tickets to heaven.’

He said, ‘They have not been seen in any visible movement against Hasina. They have stayed behind the Chhatra League in the universities. BNP has never done politics behind the scenes.’

The BNP Secretary General said, ‘If there is democracy in the country, the rights of people of all religions and castes are established. But since it is not there, Hasina has taken away the rights of all people, as well as the right to practice religion.’

Fakhrul said, ‘But changes are happening in the country. The chief advisor has talked about elections in February. Many scholars have come from abroad for reforms. We do not understand what the PR has said at the end of 8-9 months of reforms, it is even more difficult for the common people. The referendum will have four questions on one ballot, people still do not understand, they will not understand until the last day.’

In the same discussion meeting, the BNP Chairperson’s advisor, freedom fighter Abdus Salam said, ‘The war against the Awami League is not new, this war must be waged continuously. Awami League was born to consolidate India’s hegemony. "That's why the war against the Awami League will continue."

He said, "The country's crisis is not over yet, democracy has not returned yet, people have not regained their freedom yet. We will not be victorious until we can make Tarique Rahman the Prime Minister of this country."
