Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and Expatriate Welfare Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul has urged people to be wary of rumors and backbiters. He has dispelled various rumors and confusions that have been circulating on social media recently regarding the expatriates bringing mobile phones and their stay in the country.
A responsible official of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) confirmed the matter to the media.
He said that the German-based FAI Aviation Group has made a formal application through the local coordination body to withdraw the previous slot approval. We are sending it to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, based on the operator's initial application submitted on Sunday, the air ambulance had obtained permission to land at 8 am on Tuesday and take off around 9 pm on the same day.
The air ambulance was rented from the German-based FAI Aviation Group under the auspices of the Qatari government. It is a Bombardier Challenger 604 model business jet that is widely used for long-distance medical evacuations. The Challenger 604 is known for its strong transcontinental capabilities, which are suitable for Dhaka-London medical transfers.
It is worth noting that BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia has been suffering from multiple complex and chronic illnesses for a long time. These illnesses include liver cirrhosis, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and kidney complications. As her physical condition deteriorated, there has been a rush to take her abroad for better treatment for the past few days.
Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital on November 23. After admission to the hospital, her physical condition deteriorated rapidly. As a result, she was transferred to the hospital's CCU on November 27. She is currently undergoing treatment in a 'very critical' condition under the close observation of a medical board consisting of local and foreign specialist doctors.
