Inquilaab Special Correspondent and veteran journalist Munshi Kamal Atatürk Missel is no more. He breathed his last on Tuesday morning (September 15, 2026) at 5:40 AM while undergoing treatment at Popular Hospital in Dhanmondi, Dhaka (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'un). At the time of his passing, he was 48 years old and had been suffering from stroke-related complications. He leaves behind his wife, two children, and numerous well-wishers and admirers.According to family sources, he was the worthy son of the late Kamal Munshi of Eliotganj Munshibari, Cumilla. In his professional life, he served with great dedication as a Special Correspondent for the Dhaka-published daily newspaper, Inquilaab. Additionally, he served for a long time as the Cumilla Correspondent for Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS). Previously, he also served as the General Secretary of the Chandina Press Club. Earlier in his journalism career, he worked with distinction as the Chandina correspondent for several national dailies published from Dhaka.His funeral prayer (Janazah) will be held today after the Asr prayer at the Eliotganj Rajendra Biswanath (R. B.) High School ground. Following the Janazah, he will be laid to rest in his family graveyard.Journalist Missel was not merely a media professional; his social responsibility and humanitarian qualities earned him a deep relationship with people from all walks of life. He consistently stood by ordinary people in their joys and sorrows, making him exceptionally popular locally. As the news of his untimely demise spread, a shadow of profound grief fell over the media community and the entire region.Various media organizations, press forums, and distinguished personalities from diverse professions expressed deep condolences over his passing.
