The Chandina Thana Police in Cumilla arrested two individuals, including one under the Anti-Terrorism Act, during a special drive conducted over the last 24 hours. Following the completion of legal procedures, the arrestees have already been produced before the learned court.According to police sources, as part of this special drive, a youth named Md. Riyad Hossain (24) was arrested in connection with a regular case. He is the son of Nurul Islam and Setara Begum, hailing from Gallai Kanai Bari village under No. 10 Gallai Union in Chandina Thana, Cumilla district.In another success of the operation, police apprehended Mohammad Ali (33), a local leader of the Transport Shramik League. He is the General Secretary of the Madhaiya Union Transport Shramik League and the son of the late Montaj Uddin and the late Parvin, residing at Naotala (Shah Alam Haji Bari) in Chandina Thana. He was arrested under the Anti-Terrorism Act.Chandina Thana Police stated that such special and regular drives will continue to maintain law and order and ensure peace in the area. Both the arrestees have been forwarded to the learned court through proper legal channels.
