Four people have been sentenced to different prison terms for drug consumption following a special drive in Chandina, Cumilla. The sentences were handed down by a mobile court after a 24-hour operation conducted by Chandina Police Station.The convicts have been identified as Md. Sajjad Pramanik (42), son of the late Insad Pramanik of Champaknagar under Sadullapur Police Station in Gaibandha; Md. Selim (40), son of the late Abdul Haq of Chhaykot under Chandina Police Station; Md. Shahin (21), son of Md. Abdul Alim of Ibrahimpur under Ghoraghat Police Station in Dinajpur; and Md. Nazrul Islam (45), son of the late Mun Mia of Chhaykot under Chandina Police Station.Police reported that the mobile court handed down the sentences for drug consumption. Later, all four convicts were sent to Cumilla Central Jail under police escort.Chandina Police Station stated that such anti-drug special drives will continue, and strict legal action will be taken to prevent drug consumption and drug-related offenses.
