Police in Chandina Police Station, Cumilla, have taken a unique initiative to gather confidential information about drug traffickers. A special drop box labeled "Report Any Drug-Related Complaints" has been installed in front of the main entrance of the police station for public convenience. The initiative aims to provide a safe channel for those who hesitate to approach the police directly due to fear of disclosing their identity or facing potential harassment.Although local residents have responded positively to the initiative, its practical utilization remains quite limited. Despite the box being set up a month ago, only one written complaint has been dropped into it so far. Visitors to the police station believe that such an opportunity to submit information anonymously will bridge the gap between the police and the public, empowering people to speak out against drug dealers without fear.Md. Nuruzzaman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandina Police Station, stated that despite checking the box daily, only a single complaint was received in a month—well below expectations. However, he affirmed that this initiative will continue to secure public cooperation against drugs. He assured that any new complaint received would be promptly verified and followed by strict legal action.
