The National Citizen Party (NCP) has filed a complaint with Habiganj police over an alleged attack during its July March programme, naming 11 individuals and accusing around 100 unidentified persons.The complaint was submitted at around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Kamaichhara Police Camp in the presence of Habiganj Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tarek Mahmud.NCP Convener Nahid Islam’s Press Secretary, Nur Hossain, confirmed the development to BBC Bangla.According to him, the complaint was formally lodged with the Superintendent of Police, with the president of the Habiganj district unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal named as the principal accused.Habiganj Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tarek Mahmud also confirmed receiving the complaint.Speaking to BBC Bangla, he said, "A complaint has been filed by the NCP. It is currently under process. After submitting the complaint, the NCP leaders left for Moulvibazar."Responding to allegations that NCP leaders were obstructed at various points along their route, the police chief said, “As there was tension in the area and Section 144 was in force, police imposed restrictions at certain locations for their security.”Earlier in the day, NCP leaders reportedly faced police barriers at least three times while travelling from Sreemangal in Moulvibazar to Habiganj. After crossing those checkpoints and continuing their journey, they encountered another blockade near Mirpur in Habiganj.Police stopped the NCP convoy in the area, prompting the party’s senior leaders, led by Nahid Islam, to remain there for some time.Later in the evening, Nahid Islam, Hasnat Abdullah, Sarjis Alam, Nasiruddin Patwari and other senior party leaders submitted the complaint to the police before departing for Moulvibazar.
